HVTechFest 2020: Hackathon!

We hope this message finds you and yours well during these interesting times we are living in.
The Pivoteers & Pioneers Webisode series presented by OpenHub and HVTechFest was our prelude to the theme of HVTechfest 2020, a theme of divining opportunities for individuals and business within the Hudson Valley in the new normal. With the pandemic situation remaining fluid we’ve initiated our own pivot to continue the theme and momentum.
HVTechFest’s Pivoteers and Pioneers will continue as a bi-weekly live podcast featuring local businesses and technologists sharing stories about how technology helped businesses adapt to challenges starting with the current pandemic. We are engaging the best professionals and mentors to share their knowledge and experience addressing the challenges discovered. Look for schedule and upcoming topics on the OpenHub website. - The HVTechFestival — which originally consists of a one-day conference and one-day Hackathon — will continue with the two-day youth Hackathon on October 23–24, 2020 and the one-day conference deferred to Spring 2021.
- The Hackathon: Are you a creative thinker? A problem-solver?
Are you concerned about issues related to the Social Distancing? Digital Divide? Small cities “Main Street” businesses trying to survive through “New normal” challenges?
Do you have an idea to solve a problem related to the “new normal” in the Hudson Valley? If so, then come join us for the Annual Hackathon, which will be a key activity of our second Hudson Valley Tech Festival. - We are also considering to fill the week of October 16–24 with extended Hackathon opportunities, engaging professionals with challenges.
Dates and locations will be posted for each — conference and Hackathon. If you submitted a proposal for HVTechfest 2020, we ask that you submit again when the conference date is announced. If your proposal was related to design thinking, we are happy to invite you to volunteer for the Hackathon — it will be highly appreciated. Let us know by responding to this message.
